Writers Seminar: How has studying published authors changed/improved your writing?

I feel the more and more you read, you have the chance to explore the authors stylistic choice or voice that they use in their writing that makes you feel more intrigued to read it. When I started to read complex types of books,  at first the ideas didn’t get to me until I start reading more into it. If I actually put interest towards what I’m reading and paying attention to what’s happening in the story, it can be a  huge significance towards what I may be writing for my  future pieces.  Scientifically it’s proven that if you invest your time into reading good novels or pieces of literature you will “copy” that sort of writing because of being exposed towards it.

Are you glad you did your writer? Who different would you consider? WHy?

I was happy that I was able to consider to pick an artist with my partner who was a singer/songwriter.  Billie Eilish was a singer that me and my partner were both aware of and were very eager to be presenting in our presentation. Me and my partner mainly chose her and not because of her beautiful songs, but because she conveys a deeper message towards her lyrics that make it difficult for people to identify. Her rise as a pop artist, has encouraged many of her fans to let out their emotions and get a sense of what reality actually feels like.

WHat genres have interested you the most?

Back then, I was all into fictious novels because it seemed to keep my interest going. Now I feel that I don’t have a specific genre that I need to worry about. As long as it’s a good book, it’s a good book. But lately my dark side has been wanting to make a prescence so I have tried to get a hold of some horror books or books that focus on a sort of “dark realism”.   I find it weird the fact that my interests have sort of changed within a year of just experimenting with books and seeing where it can take me as a reader and a writer.

What did your learn from the writers? INSPIRATIONS?

The key towards any  good piece of writing, is if there is some sort of message or a feeling that is being conveyed that captures the reader’s attention.  Writers have some sort of connection and that connection is the fact that there is meaning behind what they are saying in the story. Whether it’s a moral, a sin, or a fantasy, it somehow draws the reader to be consciously connecting their life with the book they read.  It can be in the readers desire or sense of comfort that allows them to be familiar with what they’re reading.

Do you intend to read more of a writer? Which?

I feel I don’t have a specific writer I am reading into, but if it’s going to be a horror type of genre, I would want to read Stephen King. His books are out of this world when it comes to the art of making horror seem suspenseful and intriguing.
